The Passion Behind Missions
God calls His people to go. In today's complicated culture, many are blocked from fulfilling His anointing in their lives. After 40 years of mission work, we believe God has raised Global Mission Connections to eliminate those obstacles.
Global Mission Connections strives to make those critical connections between people. People who want to go on missions, missionaries who need assistance, people who want to learn more about missions, those who want to get involved, but don't know what to do next... Do you need help finding or defining your mission? Call, let's chat.
Container to Africa
After many months of collecting, hauling, and sorting, Global Mission Connections shipped a 40-foot sea container filled with donated items for Glolight International in Malawi, Africa. On January 28th at 2pm, a semi truck parked near Scott Valley Berean Church while a team of volunteers loaded a donated Dodge Dakota, a Dodge sedan, tables, chairs, generators, tools, books, and clothing which will be used to further Glolight’s mission of helping Africans at the grassroots level.
Although there are many people to thank for this community effort, Global Mission Connections specifically thanks Stu Henderson for stepping up as the foreman of the project. Stu along with John Sutter, Paul Morgen, Jeremiah and Amy Shahparast, Ben Corley, Greg Scheel, Lance Cassidy, Scott Murphy, Drew Travis and a few others loaded and constructed wall partitions to secure all the donated items.
Among the many donors for this project, Global Mission Connections wishes to thank Mark Winningham for the Dodge Dakota, Vern and Virginia Byer for the Dodge sedan, the Murphys for equipment to load the vehicles, Mike Theofanides for an air compresser, Jay Powers for a table saw, Margaret Hoagland for school and household supplies, Bob and Ida Scranton for tools, and hospital friends from Mt. Shasta for donated supplies and funds. Kidder Creek and JH also donated lumber and chairs, tables and buckets. Scott Valley Feed Store donated tools and Ft. Jones Lumber donated nails. Global also wishes to thank Renee Rezentes for the many hours she has donated in packing boxes and also for housing all the donated items in her shop.
After the container was loaded in Oakland, CA on Friday, the ship sailed on Saturday with the destination of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania on March 13. From Dar Es Salaam, Glolight International will truck the supplies to Malawi. We look forward to hearing a good report on the utilization of the much-needed items.
